What was once the outskirts of town, Bearden has become a central location for all of Knoxville and is pretty much what people are talking about when they say, “Close in west.” It includes older, charming neighborhoods and homes in every price range. There are many family-oriented neighborhoods with large, mature lots. Traditionally, Bearden begins where Lyons View Pike runs into Kingston Pike and ends at West Hills, and from Timbercrest to Westmoreland. Bearden Elementary just celebrated its 100th anniversary and remains one of the sweetest elementary schools in town, with just 2-3 classes per grade and a fantastic parent volunteer base. The Homberg shopping district has its own cool vibe, with fine furniture, art galleries, upscale clothing, and good eats.
